Portraits
These portraits emerge from brief encounters with strangers I’ve met. Some pause from what they are doing for the photograph, while others are undeterred by the lens. Working with natural light and contextual framing, I focus on capturing genuine expressions and subtleties in people as they go about their daily lives.
Often working across language barriers, the encounters rely heavily on slight nods, smiles, and a sense of understanding about the camera and subject. These images reveal fragments of life I’ve been able to come across, and is one of my favorite parts of traveling.
